Dynamic Bow Design Analysis
The bow manufacturer's design objective was a truly flat nock travel. It looked good on paper, and the math appeared flawless. The prototype looked great. The only question remaining is whether, or not the nock travel is truly flat as the bow is shot. High-speed photography doesn't really show enough detail to know the truth. Watching arrow flight is woefully inadequate. The Bow Lab will show nock deviation as little as .010 of an inch as it is dynamically exercised.
When a bow is drawn, does its design allow it to naturally shoot the arrow far enough away from the riser to clear the arrow fletching? See if it does on the Bow Lab. Are the manufacturers procedures for cam timing and limb balancing any better than a good guess? Verify them on the Bow Lab, and then set them precisely to exacting precision using the Bow Lab and its procedures.

Archery will Never be the Same
The frustration of trying to tune a bow is now eliminated. What anyone really wants is a bow that will shoot as good as it can for anyone who shoots it. And if the bow they have won’t fire an arrow straight to the target, they want one that will. Until now many hours of shooting arrows and guessing at what will help achieve the best arrow flight by trial and error, was unavoidable. For the archer who wants to avoid the nonsense of bow tuning, the Bow Lab offers an easy and precise alignment. If there are problems with the function or design of a bow, they are easily and quickly discovered. Know how “good” a bow is before you buy it. Know what to get repaired on that “old “ bow, so it will shoot better than it used to when you loved it. The only thing an archer “must” do any more is set the sight pins, and have the fun and satisfaction archery can deliver. |
Precise, Dynamic, Alignment
A bow and arrow comprise a shooting system. A machine. The notion of “tuning” this mechanical system is a collection of half-truths based on guesswork and in many cases, faulty assumptions derived from misunderstandings and wives tales handed down from the past 1000 years. Today’s precision archery shooting equipment is fully capable of being aligned to its optimum operating condition as allowed by its design constraints and physical capabilities.
Using the Bow Lab every adjustable aspect of a modern bow can be precisely and dynamically aligned to achieve optimum performance. The rest and nock alignment can be set perfectly to within minute tolerances. Limbs can be thrust balanced for optimum transfer of force into the arrow shaft. Rotational elements can be timed to exacting standards, which take into consideration the asymmetrical nature of the vertical handheld bow. Dynamic warping can be detected, compensated for, and with minor modifications, eliminated.

The Bow Lab allows, for the first time ever, a customized bow setup, which is quantified and precisely repeatable. It also allows, for the first time ever, someone other than the owner/shooter of the bow to align it with total confidence that it is correct for anyone, or everyone that will shoot it. Now any Pro-shop equipped with a Bow Lab, can honestly offer an alignment and repair service that is easily worth the price paid.Dynamic Bow Function Testing
Are the bow cams timed correctly? Do the limbs warp during draw and release? Is the arrow rest in proper dynamic relation to the nock point on the string? Is the nock point and the arrow rest positioned where the designer calculated it should be for optimum performance, quietness and forgiveness? Are the limbs pulling evenly as they pass through the highest thrust portion of the pressure curve? Are the camshafts worn? Does the nock point wander as it pushes the arrow? Does the nock point jump at full draw and/or at full rest? Discover any functional anomalies and answer all these questions with confidence, accuracy, and precision using the Bow Lab. |
 A Complete Bow Laboratory
The Bow Lab is everything needed for bow analysis, alignment, repair, and testing in one system. It replaces all the major pieces of equipment used to do anything with a bow. It is a dynamic design analyzer; a bow vise; a bow press that is no more dangerous to the bow than a person pulling it to full draw; a repair station and troubleshooter; a shooting machine; a re-stringer, and the most convenient and fastest cam timing station. Quite simply, it is an engineering lab and pro shop on one piece of equipment. |
